Tourism Industry of Iceland has been growing significantly for past 15 years. It has been contributing about 10% to the Icelandic GDP since 2016. The number of tourists had exceeded two million in 2017 for the first time. This growth in tourism is allowing the tourism industry to hold a share of nearly 30% of the country’s export revenue. Tourism facilities and services provided by the country are counted as reasons for the significant growth in tourist visits.

A few years earlier, the number of tourists visiting Iceland did not even exceed 80,000 in a single year. But now the tourist visits are increasing quickly and helping to improve the earlier stats.

Currently, Iceland is experiencing great growth in tourists and in just a few months, the tourist visits are even exceeding the total population of the country. According to the Icelandic Tourist Board, there was a growth of 595,000 tourists in 2000, in terms of a number of overnight stays by foreign people. And in 2014, it rose to 4.4 million. There are many tours to Iceland that allow tourists to get perfect accommodation and trip planning.

Iceland has many such places where tourists are loving to visit. It has untouched nature and a unique atmosphere that is attracting people from across the world. Air transport is playing a major role in the country’s tourism growth.

Currently, Iceland has flights to all the popular countries around the world. During the summer season, a large crowd of foreign people can be seen in Iceland due to its cold atmosphere.
