Since he was a kid, Cody Patrick wanted to work in the music industry. However, he did not belong on the stage but behind it. He knew it since the moment he started working backstage for artists and managing their PR campaigns.
Cody Patrick has been in the music industry for 15 years, and in his time, he has supported many artists. However, due to Non Disclosure statements, he can’t express all his success. But his being hired by Asylum Records is one of his greatest achievements. He was approached by the Asylum Records to join their A&R team because he has got a skill to recognise talent.
Patrick likes working in a specific genre of music, hip-hop, and pop. That’s why he has worked for artists like Future, 2 Chainz, Yo Gotti, T-Pain, and more. He has also directed many popular music videos like “Bad and Boujee” by the Migos, “Broccoli” by DRAM, “Sassy” by Rapsody, and, most recently, “Jefe” by TI and Meek Mill.
When Patrick decided to become an agent for indie artists and help them find PR agencies to help them grow, he did not like what he found. Many companies were fraudulent and gave fake promises. So, he decided to create his own marketing firm – Organic Music Marketing. He studied the methods, taught himself skills, and got results for his clients.
He has done hundreds of digital campaigns of all sizes and types; that is how he learned to maximize pretty much any size marketing/promo budget for any artist in any genre. The secret to his success is he is both analytical and musical. He can discern which music/artist is going to be famous, and he has a knack for these things.
Patrick shared that even if he doesn’t like an artist, he can tell by listening to the music if they will be successful. After 15 years of trials and huddles, he has come this far. Patrick has now earned a dignified position in the music industry.
