NASA provides further details on ISS’s Soyuz Capsule mysterious hole

On December 11, two cosmonauts inspected the presence of a hole in the Soyuz capsule that had docked into the ISS (International Space Station). The two cosmonauts named Oleg Kononenko and Sergei Prokopyev discovered this hole during a spacewalk who now confirm that this mysterious hole was most definitely drilled from the inside out.

This report was latest in the saga of news about the mysterious hole that turned this incident into something weird. On 29th August, the scientists noted a particular pressure leak towards the backside of ISS. Eventually the source was determined as a hole of 2mm ISS’s Soyuz Capsule. Upon discovery it was quickly filled up with the use of epoxy. NASA added that the ISS astronauts were in no danger ever.

The pictures taken of this hole revealed it to be more like the one that comes from drilling. The Russian authorities stated that this hole could have been a result of “Deliberate Spoilage”. However, the authorities refrained from any kind of direct accusations.

No more details have been acquired regarding this issue. It hasn’t been confirmed whether this hole was actually created in space or earth. Scientists also add that drilling such hole in the microgravity of space could be extremely difficult making it an act enacted on Earth.
