League of Legends Blocked in Iran and Syria

Due to the current issue running between Iran and USA, the government of the United States has banned the League of Legends in Iran and Syria. The reason behind the game ban is related to Iran’s missile test. Iran tested a missile recently on a U.S surveillance drone. Both the countries are already in a conflict when Iran destroyed a drone and two fuel tanks of U.S. But the current missile test added more fuel into the conflict.

The players who are signing in from Iran and Syria are receiving a message. The message says, “Due to US laws and regulations, players in your country cannot access League of Legends at this time. Such restrictions are subject to change by the US government, so if and when that happens, we will look forward to having you back on the rift.” This message shows the outcome of the conflict running between both countries. The conflict has been reached on such a level that they are restricting each other’s services.

This message about the League of Legends being unavailable to play in Iran and Syria was also published on the league’s forum and the players commented a lot about the ban. According to the players, Iran and Syria hold massive traffic of the game and it should not be banned. It is a bad decision. League of Legends game is free to play and anybody can buy several things over there, including skins and icons directly from the clients. Although players in Iran and Syria could play the game by using a VPN, it will affect the gameplay and may become an act of cybercrime.
