Digital Marketing Talk With Kyree Hollis

Kyree Hollis, digital marketing guru and A&R, is setting himself apart from the crowd during this pandemic. As someone who’s been in the music industry since childhood, he’s picked up many useful tips over the years. After working with legendary acts like Teddy Riley and Diddy as well as newcomers like Lil Tecca, Kyree’s digital marketing campaigns have proved to be effective for hundreds of artists. Today, we sat down with the Los Angeles-based creative to talk about what place digital marketing will be in with everything going on.

“During this time, everyone is in panic mode as we were all not prepared for this,” states Kyree. As the crisis continues to spill over into the music industry, many labels, streaming services, and publications were forced to restructure. “We are forced to adapt and continue our life as if this is the new norm.” For artists that means being on their social media as often as possible and putting out tons of music. However, without proper digital marketing, a song or project can mean nothing for one’s catalog and that’s where Kyree comes in.

As many are aware of, Instagram has been a go-to spot for new content and interactions with fans alike in general. Tory Lanez and Boosie are some of the notable acts who found viral success in live sessions and funny moments that landed them on several media pages. “Maybe you play some snippets of new songs, or maybe you do a live performance,” he notes. “Fans love when they can talk to the artist directly.”

Elsewhere, Kyree states that engagement groups and hashtags heir the throne when it comes to social media. “The people in the engagement group will then like and comment on the post,” Kyee on getting more likes and comments on posts. He also points out that hashtags can potentially expose you to millions of viewers. “Hash-tagging is important because it enables you to potentially hit the explore page for those particular hashtags.”

Hopefully these tips will help artists grow their fan bases, follow Kyree Hollis on Instagram @kyreedatsme or on his website.
